Frequently Asked Questions

How can you advocate for me?
Our patient advocates can assist you in navigating the complex healthcare system for your aging loved one. We help clients access necessary services, understand care options, speak up for themselves, advocate their rights, make informed decisions, utilize insurance benefits, and take ownership of their health. We essentially help guide and empower you and your family through the journey.
Our advocates alleviate your burden so you can focus on your loved one's health. We coordinate appointments, obtain reports, share information between providers, and handle admin tasks to save you time and frustration. You’ll have the peace of mind of knowing there’s someone representing the unique needs of your elderly loved one while reducing day-to-day demands on family members.
Yes, we can accompany you to appointments to take notes, ask questions, and facilitate discussions. However, due to insurance policies we cannot transport clients in personal vehicles. We can arrange medical transportation or meet you on-site as needed.
We primarily offer remote support so we can work with families across the U.S. who need guidance on finding care solutions for elderly loved ones in another state. We also provide some in-person services in Metro Atlanta as needed for local clients. Every situation is unique, so please contact us for a consultation.
We utilize HIPAA-compliant, encrypted platforms to store protected health information. Beyond that, you control preferences on forms of communication. Without consent, information is not shared outside of direct advocacy efforts. This includes family members who may handle billing. Please refer to our Terms and Privacy Policy for specifics.
Our sole allegiance is to you and your stated needs and preferences. While we collaborate with providers, we empower clients to ask questions, seek information and make their own well-informed decisions about care. We simply provide the tools and support for you to own your healthcare journey.
First, we conduct an eligibility assessment and advise if moving forward is likely to secure approval. Then we handle collecting financial documents, coordinating submission, communicating with case workers, and tracking status. We also troubleshoot any issues, appeal denials when warranted, and update you every step.
We maintain relationships with several reputable local home care agencies to access reliable CNAs, LPNs and other support staff. After discussing your daily care needs and medical requirements, we coordinate interviews and schedules. Our goal is to match professionals who meet clinical needs and personality preferences.
Our advocates pursue regular training on conditions like Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, Lewy Body dementia and more. We understand the extra coordination these specialized cases require between healthcare providers, community resources and family members. You can feel confident we can handle unique needs.
We personalize the process based on the individual. If your loved one values high autonomy, we prioritize quality independent living options first. If daily assistance is preferred, we focus tours on communities with more built-in services. Our role is to present you with clear choices aligned to priorities.
If an urgent hospitalization or unexpected issue arises, we can step in to ask the right care questions, confer with providers, communicate updates to family members and streamline discharge processes. Let us be your supportive resource in difficult times.
